Offered is this super Collings Soco LC built in 2017. For many players, Collings makes the best semi-hollow electrics in the business right now.

Being an 'LC'  model, this instrument has a laminated Maple body and a Maple center block. The laminated construction is preferred by some as being more resistant to feedback than solid wood models.  Some also argue that the laminated woods result in a more focused tone.  This beauty is finished in Blonde nitrocellulose lacquer and has a total weight of just 7 pounds, 8 ounces.  The neck is made of Mahogany with ivoroid binding. It has a 24-7/8" string scale, a medium/fat C-shape with depth measurements of .875" at the first fret and 1.00" at the twelfth fret. The Indian Rosewood fretboard has a 12" radius, a 1-11/16" nut, medium frets and dots inlays. The electronics on this guitar consist of Lollar Low Wind Imperial humbuckers, DiMarzio pots and Jupiter caps and a 50's style wiring setup. The bridge and tailpiece are by Kluson and the tuners are Gotohs with ivoroid buttons.

Play this guitar and you recognize that it is based on the Gibson ES formula, but has been built with a precision that Gibson has never been able to match. Like virtually all the guitars Collings builds, this Soco feels like it was carved from a single piece of wood. The playability is worthy of guitars costing far more. The tone matches or exceeds that of most any ES model I have ever played.  Please check out the brief sound sample provided.

This guitar is in excellent minus condition. The only flaws are some string marks on the bridge pickup cover, light pick scratching on the pickguard and a tiny "amp lean" impression on the back of the neck at about the 4th fret (see photos). These issues are quite minor and very hard to see and the impression on the neck is not easily felt during play. The frets are in superb condition with no divots or obvious wear. It comes in it's original Collings/Ameritage case in superb condition.

A new example of this guitar sells for nearly $6K but you can get this superb 2017 example for $2,500 less.  Whatever kind of music you make, many players feel that Collings makes the best semi-hollow electrics available these days. Try one and you will likely agree!
